Wednesday September 2, 2009 Working Fire Luzerne County
E-933 was dispatched at approx 14:15 Wednesday afternoon as an additional engine company to 275 Parsonage St. Hughestown Boro. Shortly after arriving on scene we were put to work checking the exposure building on Side D of the structure. Once our assignment was completed Chief 143 then assigned us to overhaul operation on the 1st and 2nd divisions.
C-93, E-933 and L-93 were dispatched about 7:20 AM to a car into a creek off of Villa Dr. in Old Forge. Upon arrival the car was over the embankment next to the creek. No occupants were inside the vehicle a check around the wooded area was conducted nothing found.
Shortly after returning back to service E-933 was dispatched to Luzerne County as and additional engine to a working structure fire at 3 Hughes St. in Hughestown.
A state police fire marshal ruled Sunday night fire arson. C-93, C-98, C-112, E-933, E-93, E-98, L-93, L-95 and R-112. Where dispatched to a structure fire at Global Graphics on West Oak St. in Old Forge around 22:45 Sunday June 21, 2009. Chief 93A arrived on scene reporting working fire smoke coming from the building, no visible fire. Chief requested SRN bring in E-143 and R-23 as RIT. L-93 found a small rubbish fire in the press room. E-933 established water supply and pulled a 2" attack line. L-93 had the fire extinguished with a PW can. The building was vented with a PPV fan.
Congrats to Captain Bill
Stull and the members of Eagle McClure that rode the Engine out to a
multi family dwelling fire on Oak St in Old Forge Sunday evening.
Engine 93-3 was responsible for the primary water supply, while Engine
93 stretched and Engine 98 had the secondary water supply. A wise
retired PA State Fire Academy instructor always said, "Do
your job unless, the job is impossible, not needed, or taken
over by someone else". We think these photos
give support to this statement. The doors of opportunity did in fact
open !!!
